Prague
This year we pretty much nailed it despite being in a new environment. In a new place, yes, but with the same old charming group.
Our host, complete with his charming smile and sexy voice, was Luboš Procházka, Editor-in-Chief of the Czech radio station Frekvence 1. My friend, the Czech film director Irena Pavlásková, did a last-minute U-turn before flying overseas and instead came to join us. Also with us at the Academia bookstore Wenceslas Square branch was a man I love, respect, and without whom I would not dare to launch anything – the Czech actor Roman Vojtek, my very own literary talisman. (By the way, married life very much suits him as you can see from the photos below.) And finally, also in fine form before flying off to Africa (and greatly refreshing our old party) was the Czech climber, Radek Jaroš. You can see what a great time we had from the photos below by Viola Hertelová and this video by a regular attendee to my book launches, Jarka Brokešová, a woman of courage and (as she likes to say) a fair bit of gender ‘imbalance’. They both captured the atmosphere excellently! The book sold like hot cakes, and many thanks to those of you who came all that way to see me and support me by turning up and buying my books. See you next time!
